Atago PAL-HIKARi 8 Kiwi Portable IR Brix Meter

The PAL-HIKARi 8 is a portable Brix meter from Atago utilizing infrared (IR) non-contact measurement technology, specifically calibrated for kiwifruit. It measures sugar content in the 6.0-20.0% Brix range simply by touching the fruit surface, without cutting or pressing the fruit.

Unlike traditional refractometers that require sample sectioning, pressing, or extraction, this instrument eliminates sample loss and time consumption, particularly advantageous for premium kiwi cultivars (Hayward, Zespri Gold, Zespri Green, etc.). This provides practical benefits for pre-harvest maturity monitoring, export quality control, and sorting operations.

The instrument operates with ±1.5% accuracy and 0.1% Brix resolution; it offers automatic temperature compensation across 5.0-35.0°C.
