Petrifilm® E.coli/Coliform Count Plates – Ready-to-Use Culture Media (3M™ Neogen®)

Petrifilm® E. coli/Coliform Count Plates are ready-to-use culture media plates designed for E. coli and coliform bacteria enumeration in food safety laboratories. They eliminate the need for classical agar preparation, enabling direct sample inoculation and incubation directly on the plate.

The plates deliver quantitative results within 22-26 hours of incubation and are validated according to OMA #991.14 (General Food) and OMA #998.08 (Poultry, Meat, and Seafood) official methods. Coliform bacteria are differentiated based on biochemical characteristics, while E. coli colonies are identified by gas bubble formation around the colony. When used with the Petrifilm® Plate Reader Advanced, the plates enable automated reading and result recording.

Available in 50-unit (6404) and 500-unit (6414) packaging options, the plates must be stored at ≤8°C and are used for microbiological monitoring in food production facilities, quality control laboratories, and third-party food testing laboratories.
