Atago PAL-HIKARi 7 Handheld IR Brix Meter – Non-Contact Measurement for Blueberries

The PAL-HIKARi 7, from Atago's HIKARi series, is an infrared (IR) spectroscopy-based Brix meter specifically calibrated for blueberries. It measures sugar content (Brix) by light contact with the fruit surface without crushing or pressing; this approach prevents sample loss, especially critical in premium and organic blueberry production.

The device measures within 8.0-20.0% Brix range with 0.1% Brix resolution, delivering ±2.0% accuracy and ±1.0% repeatability. It includes automatic temperature compensation between 10.0-30.0°C, ensuring consistent results across varying harvest conditions. With IP65 protection rating, it is built for reliable field and storage facility operation.

Traditional refractometric methods require fruit pressing, causing sample loss—particularly problematic for small, delicate blueberry specimens. The PAL-HIKARi 7's non-contact approach preserves sample integrity for pre-harvest ripeness monitoring and batch-level quality control.
