Atago PAL-22S Honey Refractometer – Moisture (Water Content) Meter

The PAL-22S is a compact digital refractometer manufactured by Atago for direct on-site measurement of honey water content (moisture ratio). With just 2-3 drops of honey sample, the instrument delivers results in approximately 3 seconds, enabling quality control assessment without laboratory delay.

Honey moisture is one of the most critical quality indicators; elevated moisture levels lead to fermentation risk and reduced shelf life. The PAL-22S measures moisture within the 12.0-30.0% range with 0.1% resolution, enabling beekeepers, purchasing points, and honey processing facilities to rapidly evaluate product quality.

With IP65 protection rating, the device resists dust and water ingress in field or facility environments. Its compact pocket-sized design ensures portability and convenient field operation. The instrument does not feature automatic temperature compensation; therefore, stable sample and ambient temperature is recommended for consistent measurements.
