Atago PAL-45S Barium Chloride Refractometer

The PAL-45S is a specially calibrated digital refractometer that directly measures barium chloride (BaCl₂) aqueous solution concentration as a percentage. It is designed for rapid quality control of BaCl₂ solutions in the chemical industry, metal processing, and process control applications.

The instrument delivers results in approximately 3 seconds using only 2–3 sample drops, eliminating the need for time-consuming methods such as titration or gravimetric analysis. With 0.1 Brix resolution and ±0.2% BaCl₂ accuracy, it provides consistent measurements both in the field and laboratory. The IP65 protection rating enables safe operation in chemical environments and humid work areas. Its compact body (5.5×3.1×10.9 cm, 100g) powered by two AAA batteries ensures portability.

The unit lacks automatic temperature compensation; therefore, measurements should be conducted within the 10–40°C operating range and, preferably, at a constant ambient temperature.
