PAL-HIKARi 18, from ATAGO's HIKARi series, is an infrared (IR) principle handheld Brix meter specifically calibrated for plums. Unlike classical refractometers, it enables non-destructive measurement by simply touching the sample surface to the sensor, eliminating the need to cut or press the fruit. This feature significantly reduces sample loss and labor waste, especially for valuable or delicate plum cultivars.

The instrument measures across a range of 11.0-29.0% Brix with 0.1% Brix resolution and ±1.5% accuracy.
