Food safety allergen detection, particularly for specific allergens such as lysozyme, is of paramount importance. SENSIStrip Lysozyme test has been specifically developed to determine the presence of lysozyme in food products and cleaning control processes. Lysozyme is used as a preservative in certain food products, particularly wine and cheese, and this test provides a sensitive solution for ensuring the safety of food manufacturers and consumers. The SENSIStrip Lysozyme test is based on immunoassay principle and enables the detection of samples containing lysozyme. After the sample is placed in a reaction tube containing biotinylated antibodies specific to lysozyme, it is incubated at room temperature for three minutes. The test strip is then inserted into the tube and, as the sample moves across the nitrocellulose membrane by capillary forces, it releases gold nanoparticles conjugated with streptavidin. As a result of this interaction, an antibody-gold complex is formed. In positive samples, a red line appears in the test line area with the liquid reaching that zone, while in negative samples no line appears. In all cases, a red control line appears above the test line area, indicating that the test is valid. Test results are evaluated after five minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the principle of the SENSIStrip Lysozyme test?
The test is based on immunoassay principle using biotinylated antibodies specific to lysozyme and streptavidin-conjugated gold nanoparticles for visualization of results.
What types of samples can be analyzed with this kit?
The test can analyze lysozyme residues in food matrices, rinse waters, and swab samples from surfaces.
How long does the test take?
The complete test procedure takes approximately 8 minutes: 3 minutes incubation at room temperature plus 5 minutes for result evaluation.
How are positive and negative results distinguished?
In positive samples, a red line appears in the test line area. In negative samples, no line appears in the test area. A control line always appears to confirm test validity.
What indicates a valid test result?
A red control line above the test line area indicates that the test is valid, regardless of whether the result is positive or negative.
In which food products is lysozyme commonly used?
Lysozyme is used as a preservative in certain food products, particularly in wine and cheese production.
