PI-Cassette™ Chemometec NucleoCounter NC-3000 Cassette

The PI-Cassette™ is a disposable flow cassette used in the Chemometec NucleoCounter NC-3000™ system. The cassette's internal channels contain pre-immobilized propidium iodide (PI) fluorescent dye. When approximately 60 µl of sample is loaded into the cassette, the PI dissolves and mixes with the cell suspension, staining the nuclei of dead cells and enabling live/dead discrimination.

When used with Solution 10 and Reagent Y100 reagents respectively, this cassette provides both cell counting and viability analysis in mammalian and yeast cells in a single step. Its pre-stained design eliminates the need for additional staining steps, reducing assay time and minimizing operator-induced errors.

It is a practical solution for users requiring rapid and reproducible viability data in cell culture, bioprocess, and laboratory applications.
