Scan® 300 is an automatic colony counting system designed for microbiology laboratories seeking to accelerate routine colony enumeration. Equipped with a CMOS color camera and 28x digital zoom, it detects and counts colonies in 55-90 mm petri dishes at a rate of 1000 CFU/second; processing approximately 30 plates in 5 minutes on average.

The system supports defined culture media types including PCA/TSA, MRS, VRBL, TBX, TSC, Baird Parker, GVPC, L.Mono, and YM. Through top and/or bottom LED illumination with white/black background combinations, clear images are captured on various agar colors. Contrast and brightness are automatically optimized; agar defects and confluent colonies are automatically corrected and separated.

Results can be reported in Excel, PDF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, or Scan® format, with integration capability for barcode systems and LIMS connectivity. Manual data entry is also supported. The device features a stainless steel housing, USB connectivity, and compact dimensions (27x27x29 cm, 6.6 kg) suitable for laboratory environments.
