The NucleoCounter SCC-100 is a cell counting instrument that measures the somatic cell count in milk samples using fluorescence imaging principles. After adding Reagent-C to the sample and loading it into a cassette, results are obtained within 30 seconds; even an untrained operator can use the device easily.

The instrument operates by detecting fluorescent signals from propidium iodide (PI) dye bound to cell nuclei using epifluorescence microscopy, with results reflecting the true cell concentration of the sample. Since the measurement chamber does not come into direct contact with milk, regular cleaning is not required; the instrument performs self-checks upon startup, eliminating the need for separate calibration.

With analysis capacity of up to 100 samples per hour, it delivers fast and reproducible results for routine dairy quality control laboratories. Optional SomaticView software and external printer support enable documentation and reporting of results.
