BioTek BioSpa Multi-Plate Live Cell Imaging System

The BioTek BioSpa is an automated incubation and plate handling system designed for laboratories requiring continuous monitoring of live cell cultures. Supporting 6-1536 well microplates, cell culture dishes, and T25 flasks, the system automatically transports plates between the incubator and imaging instrument for kinetic assays including migration, wound healing, and 3D spheroid studies.

The system operates with a maximum capacity of 8 microplates and integrates seamlessly with BioTek instruments including Cytation 5, Cytation 1, EL406, 405 TS, and MultiFlo FX. Temperature control is maintained to 45°C with 0.1°C resolution, while optional CO2 (0-20%) and O2 (1-19%) control coupled with humidity monitoring (rH 80-95%) preserves physiological conditions for live cells. User-replaceable HEPA filtration minimizes contamination risk.

The software platform provides real-time event and error notifications via email or SMS, and logs all CO2/O2/temperature/humidity data. Autonomous plate transport enables extended kinetic experiments without manual intervention, and supports concurrent multi-user operation with independent workflows.
