Behr Labor Technik S2 Distillation Unit (Steam Distillation Apparatus)

Behr Labor Technik S2 is an automatic steam distillation unit employed in nitrogen and protein determination using the Kjeldahl method. As the mid-range model of the S series, the S2 reduces manual dosage requirements and ensures reproducible results through automatic NaOH and H2O dispensing capabilities.

Designed as a natural complement to Behr InKjel combustion systems, samples are distilled in this unit following the combustion step. Enhanced process safety is achieved through an automatic steam generator, tank level control, and pressure indicator. An audible/visual alarm system with 9 distinct error messages provides operators with early intervention capability.

Applicable across a wide parameter range—including alcohol, ammonium, volatile acids, formaldehyde, phenol index, protein, and nitrogen determination—in the food, beverage, feed, agricultural, environmental, and cosmetic industries. Suitable for diverse sample matrices such as water, milk, meat, grain, fertilizer, and wastewater. Stand-by mode enables cooling water and energy conservation, while RS 232/RS485 connectivity and GLP-compliant reporting/print functionality facilitate data management. Time-controlled programming reduces operator dependency in serial analyses.
