Behr Labor Technik InKjel 475P Infrared Rapid Digestion Unit (Kjeldahl Nitrogen Determination)

The InKjel 475P is a programmable infrared-heated digestion unit from Behr Labor Technik's rapid digestion series with 750 ml capacity, allowing simultaneous processing of 4 samples. Ideal for food, agricultural, and feed laboratories performing nitrogen/protein determination via the Kjeldahl method.

The infrared heating system directly heats samples, enabling shorter digestion times and lower energy consumption compared to conventional heating blocks. Under standard conditions (380 °C or 450 °C), the digestion process is completed in approximately 55 minutes. Since glass digestion vessels hang suspended on the rack, breakage risk is significantly lower than with aluminum heating block systems.

The unit offers adjustable power control from 0–100% and programmable digestion time from 0–199 minutes in 1-minute increments; up to 10 different digestion programs can be saved. This flexibility simplifies method development for various sample types and ensures reproducible results.
