Behr Labor Technik InKjel 450M Infrared Rapid Wet Digestion Unit

The InKjel 450M is an infrared wet digestion unit designed for laboratories performing nitrogen and protein determination by the Kjeldahl method. It operates simultaneously with 4 glass vessels of 500 ml capacity each and provides faster sample dissolution compared to traditional heating blocks.

The unit delivers homogeneous heating across all sample positions through its high-performance infrared heating element. Since samples are heated directly by the infrared heater rather than indirectly through conventional aluminum heating blocks, energy efficiency is significantly higher. The glass digestion vessels are suspended on a rack and do not contact the bottom of the unit, reducing breakage risk.

Power is manually adjustable between 0-100%, and digestion is completed in approximately 55 minutes at standard temperatures (380 °C or 450 °C). It is suitable for food, agricultural, feed, and environmental laboratories seeking a practical and reliable solution for protein/nitrogen determination.
