The PAL-SALT is an Atago brand handheld digital meter designed for fast and accurate measurement of salt (NaCl) concentration in food production and industrial solutions. It provides a wide range of applications, from salt content control in products such as bread, onigiri, and frozen foods to industrial salt resistance testing.

The device employs conductivity measurement methodology, calculating concentration from the electrical conductivity of salt solutions; it delivers results in approximately 3 seconds using only 2-3 drops of sample. It operates within a broad measurement range of 0.00-10.0% (g/100g) and offers resolution of 0.01% at low concentrations (0.00-2.99%) and 0.1% at high concentrations (3.0-10.0%). Accuracy is specified as ±0.05% relative accuracy at low range and ±5% relative accuracy at high range.

The offset function allows users to program a dilution factor to view the original salt percentage or adjust a conversion factor for correlation with titrimetric methods. Automatic temperature compensation maintains measurement consistency across different environmental conditions. With IP65 protection rating, the device operates reliably in industrial and production environments without being affected by moisture or dust. Its compact and lightweight body (100 g) and operation on 2 AAA batteries make it suitable for both field and laboratory use.
