Atago PAL-91S Ethylene Glycol Refractometer – Antifreeze Concentration Meter

The PAL-91S is an Atago brand digital handheld refractometer designed to measure ethylene glycol-based antifreeze solution concentration and freezing point. With a concentration range of 0.0-90.0% (V/V) and freezing point measurement capacity from 0 to -50°C, it offers broad application from radiator antifreeze to industrial cooling systems.

Ethylene glycol concentration directly determines the solution's freezing point; therefore, accurate measurement is critical for system safety. The PAL-91S measures concentration value with ±0.4% (V/V) accuracy and 0.2% resolution; for freezing point measurement, it provides ±1°C accuracy. Results are delivered in approximately 3 seconds with only 2-3 sample drops.

With IP65 protection rating, it can be safely used in workshop and field environments exposed to water and dust. The device operates on 2 x AAA alkaline batteries and features compact dimensions (5.5 x 3.1 x 10.9 cm) for easy portability in field measurements. For propylene glycol-based antifreeze, the PAL-88S model is recommended; PAL-91S is specifically optimized for ethylene glycol-based solutions.
