Atago PAL-08S Seawater Baumé Refractometer – °Bé Salinity Meter

The Atago PAL-08S is a digital handheld refractometer specifically calibrated for measuring seawater salinity on the Baumé (°Bé) scale. It eliminates the drawbacks of traditional glass Baumé hydrometers commonly used in maritime and aquaculture operations, such as breakage risk and large sample requirements.

The instrument operates within a 0.0-10.0°Bé measurement range with ±0.2°Bé accuracy and 0.1°Bé resolution. Only 2-3 drops of sample are required, with measurement completion in approximately 3 seconds. The 10-40°C temperature compensation range ensures reliable results across variable field conditions. IP65 protection rating provides durability in humid and salt-spray environments.
