Behr Labor Technik S4 Distillation Unit (Steam Distillation System)

The Behr Labor Technik S4 is one of the top-tier models in the Behr S series steam distillation units and is designed for Kjeldahl nitrogen/protein determination in combination with behr InKjel combustion systems. Within the series from S1 to S5, automation and operational convenience increase progressively; the S4 accelerates routine laboratory workflows through fully automatic reagent addition and discharge features.

The unit ensures continuous and safe operation through an automatic steam generator, pressure indicator, and tank level control. A sound/visual alarm system with 9 different error messages enables rapid identification of potential malfunctions. GLP-compliant reporting and print functionality, along with RS232/RS485 output, allow integration with laboratory information systems. Timed program scheduling and automatic addition of reagents such as H3BO3, NaOH, and H2O, combined with integrated pump-driven automatic discharge after distillation, minimize operator intervention.

It is suitable for a wide range of analytical applications in food, beverage, feed, agriculture, environmental, and cosmetic industries, including alcohol, ammonia, volatile acids, formaldehyde, phenol index, protein, and nitrogen determination.
