BioTek Cytation 5 Multi-Plate Live Cell Imaging System

Cytation 5 is a cell imaging system that integrates conventional multi-modal microplate reader technology with automated digital wide-field microscopy. Imaging and optical detection components are physically separated within the instrument, allowing both functions to operate without compromise. It is ideal for laboratories performing cell biology, proliferation studies, and drug screening applications that require both image-based phenotypic data and quantitative well-based measurements in a single experiment.

The instrument offers a comprehensive range of detection modes including absorbance, fluorescence intensity, luminescence, fluorescence polarimetry, time-resolved fluorescence, and AlphaScreen. On the imaging side, it supports fluorescence, brightfield, phase contrast, and colored brightfield modes; with the capability to accommodate up to 6 interchangeable objectives ranging from 1.25x to 60x magnification. Environmental conditions are maintained throughout live cell experiments with a 4-zone incubator, optional Peltier cooling, shaking, and optional CO2/O2 control. Gen5 software automates the image capture, processing, and analysis workflow; compatible with BioStack and third-party automation systems.

Supports 6 to 1536-well microplates as well as alternative laboratory materials including microscope slides, culture dishes, culture flasks, and hemocytometers.
