Apera Instruments PH8500-SL Soil pH Meter

The Apera Instruments PH8500-SL is a portable pH meter designed for direct pH measurement by inserting the probe into soil. The instrument comes with a Swiss LabSen 553 3-in-1 PVC spear-tip pH/temperature electrode; it delivers repeatable results in soil measurements thanks to its polymer electrolyte and long-lasting reference system.

The meter measures in the pH range of -2.00 to 19.99 pH with ±0.01 pH accuracy; it operates across 0-100°C with automatic or manual temperature compensation. Calibration is simplified through automatic recognition of 12 buffer solutions. With 500 data record storage, USB output, and a large backlit LCD display, it is suitable for both field and laboratory use.

The housing has IP57 dust and water resistance rating; powered by 3 AA batteries or USB connection. Thanks to its collapsible stand, it can also be used as a benchtop meter. It is a practical field tool for agricultural consultants, agronomists, and soil laboratories.
