Behr Labor Technik S3 is one of the S series steam distillation units complementing the Behr InKjel digestion systems. Used in food, beverage, feed, agricultural, environmental and cosmetic analysis laboratories for distillation processes in Kjeldahl nitrogen/protein determination as well as ammonia, volatile acids, alcohol, formaldehyde and phenol index parameters.

S series instruments share the same basic design but differentiate from S1 to S5 based on automation degree and user comfort. S3 reduces routine analytical workload with mid-to-upper level automation features including automatic steam generator, automatic NaOH and H2O addition, timer-based programming and integrated waste discharge pump. Pressure gauge and automatic level control enhance process safety, while audible/visual error alerts and 9 distinct error messages facilitate troubleshooting.

RS 232/RS485 connectivity and GLP-compliant reporting and printing functionality support result documentation and integration with laboratory management systems. Stand-by mode provides cooling water and energy savings during idle periods. The instrument can process a wide sample range including wastewater, dairy products, meat and fish products, cereals, fertilizers, wine and textiles.
