Atago PAL-ATHLETE Urine Specific Gravity Refractometer (SG)

Atago PAL-ATHLETE is a portable, handheld refractometer that measures urine specific gravity (S.G.) quickly and digitally. It operates within the range of 1.0000–1.0600 with a resolution of 0.0001 and an accuracy of ±0.001; it delivers results in approximately 3 seconds using only 2–3 drops of sample.

The instrument is suitable for monitoring hydration status in athletes, assessing fluid loss following training sessions, and performing simple screening based on urine concentration. Its IP65 waterproof housing ensures hygienic and durable performance in field conditions and humid environments such as locker rooms and training facilities.

Since the device has no temperature compensation, consistent results are best achieved when measurements are performed at or near room temperature conditions. Powered by 2 × AAA alkaline batteries, it enables independent use outside laboratory settings.
