Allergen detection in food safety, particularly for common allergens such as walnuts, is of critical importance. SensiStrip Walnut Test is specifically developed to identify walnut protein presence in food products and cleaning control processes. Walnut allergy is prevalent, and this test provides a sensitive solution to ensure the safety of food manufacturers and consumers.

The walnut-containing sample is introduced into a reaction vial containing biotinylated antibodies directed against walnut proteins. Following a 3-minute incubation at room temperature, a test strip is inserted into the reaction vial. The sample moves across the nitrocellulose membrane via capillary forces, releasing streptavidin-conjugated gold nanoparticles along its path. An antibody-gold complex is formed. For positive samples, when the liquid reaches the test line area, a red line appears. For negative samples, no line is visible. In all cases, a red control line appears above the test line area, indicating test validity. The test is evaluated 5 minutes after strip insertion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of the SensiStrip Walnut Test Kit?
This kit is designed to detect walnut protein residues in food products, environmental samples, and surfaces to ensure food safety and allergen control in manufacturing environments.
How does the test work?
The test operates on an immunochromatographic principle using biotinylated antibodies against walnut proteins. Streptavidin-conjugated gold nanoparticles create a visible red line when walnut allergen is present.
What samples can be analyzed?
The kit can analyze walnut residues in various food matrices, rinse waters from cleaning procedures, and surface swabs from equipment and facilities.
How long does the test take?
The complete test procedure takes approximately 8 minutes: 3 minutes incubation time plus 5 minutes for result evaluation.
What does a positive result look like?
A positive result is indicated by a red line appearing in the test line area. A control line also appears above the test area to confirm test validity.
What does a negative result look like?
A negative result shows no line in the test area, with only the red control line visible above it, confirming test validity and absence of walnut allergen.
Where can I find additional training materials?
Recorded webinars and detailed usage procedures are available on our YouTube channel, including expert guidance on allergen control and management in food production.
