Apera PH8500-SB Portable pH Meter – For Strong Alkaline Solutions

The Apera PH8500-SB is a portable pH meter developed for reliable pH measurement in strong alkaline solutions and high-temperature samples. The integrated Swiss LabSen 841 pH electrode features a hemispherical glass membrane design, making it more durable and impact-resistant compared to traditional bulb-type electrodes.

The meter measures in the -2.00 to 19.99 pH range with ±0.01 pH accuracy; temperature compensation can be applied automatically or manually within the 0-100°C range. The electrode is designed to operate within 2-14 pH and 0-100°C ranges; the reference electrode uses silver ion trap and ceramic junction, with 3M KCl electrolyte.

Automatic calibration recognizing up to 12 buffer solutions, stable reading/auto-hold mode, and digital filter technology enhance measurement repeatability. The intelligent self-diagnosis function alerts users to out-of-range measurements, incorrect calibration, or electrode malfunction. Data management is simplified with GLP-compliant storage of up to 500 data sets and USB output.

The housing features IP57 dust and water protection rating and operates on 3 AA batteries or USB (DC5V). The foldable stand makes it suitable for benchtop use. It is preferred in high alkaline processes (e.g., cleaning solutions, industrial wastewater, high-temperature applications) where standard glass electrodes have limited lifespan.
