BioTek Epoch 2 Microplate Spectrophotometer

BioTek Epoch 2 is a microplate spectrophotometer measuring UV-Vis absorbance in 6-384 well microplates and with Take3 Micro-Volume Plate for samples as low as 2 µL. It serves a broad application range including ELISA, cellular/microbial growth monitoring, nucleic acid and protein quantification, and kinetic assays.

The instrument provides monochromator-based wavelength selection (200-999 nm, 1 nm increments) and Xenon flash light source enabling filter-free UV-Vis scanning capability. It supports endpoint, kinetic, spectral scan, and well-area scan reading modes. 4-Zone incubation up to 65°C with Condensation Control ensures consistency in temperature-sensitive assays; linear, orbital, and double-orbital shaking options assist in sample homogenization.

Data collection and analysis are performed with Gen5 Data Analysis Software; Gen5 Secure option is available for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Workflow automation is enabled through compatibility with BioStack and third-party automation systems as well as BioSpa 8 Automated Incubator.

With its flexibility to work in both cuvette and microplate formats, it provides a practical solution for both routine and research laboratories.
