Interscience Scan®1200 Automatic Colony Counter

Scan®1200 is an automatic colony counting system that replaces manual counting methods in food, water, and clinical microbiology laboratories. Featuring an HD CCD color camera with 28x digital zoom and automated white LED/dark-field illumination combination, it reliably detects colonies as small as 0.05 mm.

The instrument counts at 1000 CFU/s on defined media types including PCA, TSA, VRBL, TBX, TSC, Baird Parker, GVPC, L.Mono, and YM; processing an average of 30 plates in 5 minutes. Contrast, brightness, and sensitivity are automatically optimized; agar defects and confluent colonies are automatically corrected and separated.

Compatible with petri dishes (55-90 mm), 3M Petrifilm™, Compact Dry™, Rida™ Count, Spiral® Plating, and membrane filtration media. Results can be reported in Excel, PDF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, or Scan® format, with integration to barcode systems and LIMS. These features increase counting speed and consistency in high-volume food safety and microbiology laboratories.
