The Atago 2992 Master-20PT is a handheld refractometer designed for users requiring quick and practical Brix measurement with just 2-3 sample drops. With a measurement range of 0.0% – 20.0% Brix and ±0.2% accuracy, it provides sufficient resolution to monitor sugar/dry matter content in products such as fruit juices, syrups, and lightly sweetened liquids.

The device's primary advantage is its temperature compensation feature: within the 10-30°C ambient temperature range, reliable readings can be obtained without external corrections. Its plastic housing makes the unit lightweight and suitable for field use; however, lacking IP65 ingress protection, careful handling is necessary in wet environments or production lines requiring washdown operations.

When compared to other models in the family (2381, 2382, 2383, 2991, 2993), the Master-20PT represents a mid-range model combining plastic housing with temperature compensation, but without IP65 protection. If IP65 protection is required, the 2991 (Master-20Pα) should be considered instead.
