Petrifilm® Salmonella Express Plates – Rapid Salmonella Detection (3M/Neogen)

Petrifilm® Salmonella Express Plates is a ready-to-use culture medium that rapidly and reliably screens for Salmonella spp. in food products. By eliminating traditional agar preparation steps, it enables direct testing of samples on the plate and reduces workload in food safety laboratories.

Plates deliver presumptive positive results within 40 hours for processed foods and 48 hours for unprocessed foods. Suspect colonies can be subjected to additional confirmation within 4-5 hours using a biochemical verification disk supplied with the product; results are evaluated as Salmonella positive/negative by comparison with a color card. Due to low background interference, single-stage enrichment is sufficient for processed foods.

The product holds AOAC® Performance Tested Methods℠ (PTM) certification (#061301), enabling its use in official and regulated testing protocols. Available in 50 and 200-plate packaging formats to accommodate different sample volumes. Store between -20°C and 8°C.
