The PRM-TANKα(FLN) is an Atago-manufactured flat prism design in-line process refractometer. It performs continuous concentration measurement when wall-mounted to vessels such as distillers, condensers, blenders, fermenters, extractors, and filtration tanks. The flat sensor surface, through which sample flow passes parallel to the prism face, reduces particle and residue accumulation compared to conventional prism designs, thereby lowering maintenance requirements.

The instrument measures in the refractive index range of 1.31700-1.51000 nD with ±0.0001 nD accuracy; offering resolution options of 0.0001/0.00001 nD. On the Brix scale, it operates in the 0.00-85.00% range with ±0.1% accuracy. Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) between 5.0-100.0°C ensures stable measurement despite process temperature fluctuations.

With RS-232C and 4-20mA outputs, the instrument integrates easily into PLC/SCADA systems; an open-collector alarm output enables process limit control. The standard 15m cable length (maximum 200m extension) allows the detection unit to be mounted on the tank wall while the control/display unit is positioned for convenient operator access. Note that this model does not feature IP65 protection; installation environment should be evaluated accordingly.
